nine frame Carrie (Maisie Walker)

Frame one- to begin with, the logo for Metro Goldwyn Mayer is used to tell the audience who was involved with producing and distributing the film. This is important as the companies need recognition. This logo goes on from 00:01 to 00:08. This is quite a while, therefore showing that the logo is important. Additionally if viewers see the logo at the beginning and like the company, they will be more encouraged to watch/not watch the film.

Frame two- secondly, 'United artists' is another film company which is presented at the beginning from 00:10 to 00:21. This is also showed at the beginning for a long time for recognition of the company. On the other hand, the screen is very dark and eerie which sets the mood of a horror film.

Frame three- This is starting to introduce the film with girls playing netball. Immediately you can see that Carrie has been pushed away out of the group which gives the audience an idea that Carrie is going to be the main character and the 'victim'. The titles are also introduced at the beginning in a rich red colour which represents blood which is the main theme of the film. This title goes on from 00:23-00:28 and says "A Paul Monash production" which is again giving the producers/ production companies recognition.

Frame four- frame four is also a title saying "A Brian Depalma production" which is used yet again for recognition of the companies and people involved. A crane shot is used over the girls which shows that they're all vulnerable and in danger. The fact that the camera then moves onto Carrie and stays level with her signifies that she is less vulnerable and has dominance. This sequence goes on from 00:31-00:34.

Frame five- Frame five is a medium shot of Carrie being pushed out of the group. This gives the audience an idea that she is going to be victimised throughout the film. In addition, the high key lighting at the beginning of the film is not a typical convention of a horror film which challenges the stereotype of a typical horror film. This sequence starts from 00:53 to 1:06.

Frame six- this frame is much different to the others as it has low key lighting which conforms to the stereotype of a horror film. Additionally, this frame has the main title 'Carrie' written in red writing across the screen. In the background there is a lot of what is seen as deodorant which makes it look like a foggy night. This is effective as the girls in the background look like mysterious figures which creates an unnerving atmosphere for the audience. This frame starts from 01:07-01:12.

Frame seven- This frame shows the girls getting changed in the changing rooms. A medium shot of one of the girls standing like a crucifix is used whilst she is getting dressed. This is effective as "Amy Irving William Katt Nancy Allen" is in small font in the bottom right corner. The fact that the text is red again links to the blood that Carrie gets all over her at the end. This text is an element of foreshadowing the end of the film. This frame starts from 01:19-01:23

Frame eight- This has also got bright red text on top of a blank screen. This is effective as the audience are unaware of what is behind the lockers which keeps the element of mystery. This is something that we wanted to include in our film as it is also a thriller which means that the audience are meant to be kept on their toes and shocked or scared a lot of the time. This frame starts from 1:24-11:28.

Frame nine- Finally, this frame has the red text on top giving information about which actors and starring in the film. In addition to this, it is over the top of teenage girls getting changed in the locker rooms. This gives the audience the indication that there is going to be a lot of bitchiness due to the fact that the female teenage stereotype is that they are very judgmental and bitchy towards one another. This frame starts from 1:29-1:35.
